Second Amendment

Second Amendment to the United States Constitution

None but an armed nation can dispense with a standing army. To keep ours armed and disciplined is therefore at all times important.

Thomas Jefferson

Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.

There are several versions of the text of the Second Amendment, each with slight capitalization and punctuation differences, found in the official documents surrounding the adoption of the Bill of Rights.[5]One version was passed by the Congress,[6] while another is found in the copies distributed to theStates[7] and then ratified by them.
As passed by the Congress:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
As ratified by the States and authenticated by Thomas Jefferson, Secretary of State:
A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.[8]
The original hand-written copy of the Bill of Rights, approved by the House and Senate, was prepared by scribe William Lambert and resides in the National Archives.

If you think you need to be fair and balanced and want the other sides story then look some where else.
We only go for the principals of freedom round here - Unk.
Does the Second Amendment Give Individuals a Right to Bear Arms?
The quick answer in No. Any thing that is given can as easily be taken a way. The Second dose not give us the right of self defense.  Self defense is granted to all of God creatures, would he with hold that right from his children?
The second amendment stipulates that the right of self defense shall not be infringed. To those that are hard of hearing "We The People", who wish to remain free, must stand up and shout 'Give me Freedom or I will get up and secure it for myself"

IN CONGRESS, JULY 4, 1776
The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America

But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

One of the beauties of the constitution is the provision that On the first Tuesday after the first Monday in even numbered years "We The People" have the right and it is our duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.
Keep you powder Dry and Vote for Freedom.

Yours as always
